Welcome our new pastor Marshall Cook.
My name is Marshall Cook. I’m a native Texan and was blessed to spend time in Hereford, Brownwood, and the Waco area throughout my youth.
I was the beneficiary of loving church families at each step of the way. As I get older. I’m more and more aware of God’s grace in my life as it was brought to bear by God’s people.
I come from a big Baylor family and am grateful to hold both a B.A. (‘09) and M.Div. (‘18) from schools within that beloved university.
Much of my professional experience has been with young people in both public and private schools and nonprofit organizations. I’ve also interned at three different churches in Chicago, Illinois; Waco, Texas; and Marfa, Texas.
I enjoy sports, but college football and basketball are my favorites. I’ve recently enjoyed getting to spend time rooting on Hilltopper football, and will be back at it come fall.
Over the course of my life, I have become convinced that God has a tendency to work His will in surprising ways. The realm of the unexpected is often where God’s best work is done. If we take it to be true that God is not above surprising us and that God loves us, there is a lot of adventure that life has to offer.
