Youth Ministry
A liturgy of life together for 7th-12th graders
As a ministry of this church, we intend to walk with students through a season of adolescence as they come to new questions about who they are and how they relate to the rest of God’s creation. In all we do, we guide them toward who God is, what he has commanded them to do, and explore their ultimate calling as worshipers of the living God.
Here is a picture of the regular rhythm we offer our students:
Sunday School: We have a middle school Sunday school class and a high school Sunday school class where students get to see where the word of God meets them and discuss scripture with their peers. These classes meet from 10:30-11:30am during the school year.
Youth Group: Youth Group includes both middle schoolers and high schoolers. We meet from 6:00-8:00pm on Sunday nights all year (with a couple of holiday exceptions). During our time together, we have a time of prayer and praise, snacks, Bible study, and games.
Special Events: About once per month we try to do something special outside of our Sunday rhythm. This can include something fun where we goof off and play games, a service project in our community, cooperating with another ministry in the church, or something as simple as doing homework together. Faith informs every part of our lives and events offer an opportunity for us to explore this together.

Meet our Interim Youth Minister
My name is Caroline Sunderland. I have been stewarding WRBC’s growing youth ministry since 2023 while I work on my seminary degree. I work with a faithful team of youth leaders to walk with our students and point them toward the God of the gospel. Our youth team consists of faithful men and women with diverse gifts and experiences who all hold a deep commitment to our students’ safety.
The scope of our youth ministry goes beyond the discipleship of our 7th-12th graders. Parents are a vital part of youth ministry. As teens begin to think more abstractly and hold two or more seemingly contradictory feelings or ideas together, they need parents and other adults in the church to model how we do this as we live out our faith. As we come alongside you and your family during this season of life, I am available to meet with you to talk about your goals for your student, any questions or concerns you have, or to talk about how you as a parent can bear fruit in this ministry.
